SPEECH – 1, On Republic day
Good morning everyone,
First and foremost I would like to say thank you to our honourable chief guest to attend our program. I am also thankful to our respected principal sir, all teaching and non-teaching staff to give me a chance to speak a few words on this auspicious occasion. Today we are celebrating (nth) republic day. It’s a very glad moment for every Indian.
From the year 1951, we celebrate this festival every year on 26th January because on 26th January 1950 Indian constitution was came into force. Republic day is the celebration for the new democratic ruling system of India after the 200 years of British rule in India. We can never forget those passing days, How we Indian suffered. The British people used to rule on Indian people, they compelled us to listen to their orders, started torturing, beating to Indian labours working under them. They used to punish very hard to Indian, even they would not provide one-time food after whole day work. We all be a wonder to know such blood shaking behaviours of British people under the British raj 1858-1947.
Rising voice for freedom
The first Indian, who raised voice against the British rule was Mangal Pandey on the year of 1857. The time was no more for the British people for ruling in India because in the land of India many great Indian and freedom fighters were born. Many of them spent their whole life on struggling, many died for the shake of this nation. They flew their blood like water for free India. In the struggle many mothers lost her son/daughter, many women became a widow. The image of India under British raj is unforgettable for Indians. The main leaders of India who led the struggle and gave their blood for the shake of this nation, some of them are, Mahatma Gandhi. He is also known as the father of the nation. He established Indian national congress, quit India movement to fight against British people.
In the other hand Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, who was the hero and young role model of India. His most famous quote was “Give me blood, I will give you freedom”. Chandra Shekhar Azad, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri and many more great Indians were involved who lead the struggle and many had given life for this free India. May their soul rest in peace.
Free India (1947 – now)
After we got freedom, India need had a democratic rule which would be, of the people, by the people, for the people. Then Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, Chairman of the drafting committee presented the final draft of the Indian Constitution to Dr Rajendra Prasad, Who was the 1st president of this free India. The Indian constitution gave a bright future to our country. The constitution totally finished our autocracy system which was the great reason of 200 years of British raj in India.
The vision of celebration this day should be change from just hoisting our national flag and celebrating national holiday to revisit and reanalysis those passing days and how we can make our India great. Let’s work together from the top of the heart to make India the number one country in the world.

SPEECH – 2, On Republic day
Good morning everyone, I heartily welcome everyone to the India celebrating most memorable function republic day on today 26th January. It is the day for joy and celebration for every Indian. So very very good wishes to everyone on this day. I heartily thankful to our teachers, brothers, sisters and my friends to organise such a beautiful function and for giving me a valuable time from this moment to speak some words about Republic day.
Since we all are familiar with the history behind celebrating this festival that republic day is the celebration for the new democratic system in India with the publishing of the constitution of India after the British raj. So without delay let’s remember once again the hard situations, what we Indian faced in eighteen century and how we overcome it. The poor Indians were totally helpless at the beginning. They had no idea about their future when British people recently came to India with the motto of business and the Indians were working under them.
British raj (1858–1947)
As time passed helpless Indians started tolerating the tortures of British people. The conditions of India under British raj and the situations whatever they have passed on that time is unforgettable. Times went and the situations changed. Indians started refusing to obey their rule, stopped importing things from other countries. It was the time when Indians were rising up their voice against British rule. Many struggles took place. Many of our forefathers sacrificed their lives in the struggle. Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri and many other freedom fighters whole life struggle is the result of today’s free India. We just can’t imagine sitting here, how we got this free India. I salute all those Indian hero’s.
Independent India (1947 – now)
Of course, we got free India but there were much ups and downs among us. The people of India were suffering from a dangerous blind belief system. The Indian society was divided into the different cast, where the upper graded cast wouldn’t even touch to the lower grade cast people. Every people had no permission to enter into the temple and worship. To overcome all these systems and to protect our country as well as to develop this India, Indian constitution came into force on 26th January 1950 by Dr B. R. Ambedkar who was the Chairman of drafting committee of Indian constitution and Dr Rajendra Prasad who was the 1st president of this free India. The constitution gives equal rights to each and every Indian.
At last, let’s pray together for rest in a piece of their soul for whom today we can take breaths freely and let’s pray for a better India tomorrow by contributing being a good Indian.
